1. p-Block Elements Kya Hote Hain?
Woh elements jinka last electron outermost p-subshell mein enter karta hai, unhe p-Block elements kehte hain. Inka general electronic configuration ns2 np1–6 hota hai (except Helium, jiska configuration 1s2 hota hai lekin uski properties noble gases jaisi hoti hain).
2. Group-wise Quick Highlights
- Group 13 (Boron Family): Boron (B) se Nihonium (Nh) tak. Boron ek metalloid hai aur Silicon ke saath diagonal relationship show karta hai. Important compounds: Borax, Boric Acid aur Diborane (B2H6).
- Group 14 (Carbon Family): Carbon (C) se Flerovium (Fl) tak. Carbon maximum catenation show karta hai. Diamond, Graphite aur Fullerenes bahut important allotropes hain. Boards mein inse direct questions aate hain.
- Group 15 (Nitrogen Family): Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Arsenic (As), Antimony (Sb) aur Bismuth (Bi). Haber Process se NH3 banaya jata hai aur Ostwald Process se HNO3. Nitrogen maximum pπ-pπ multiple bonding show karta hai.
- Group 16 (Oxygen Family): Oxygen (O), Sulfur (S), Selenium (Se), Tellurium (Te) aur Polonium (Po). Contact Process se H2SO4 prepare kiya jata hai. Oxygen apne chhote size aur high electronegativity ki wajah se anomalous behaviour show karta hai.
- Group 17 (Halogens): Fluorine (F), Chlorine (Cl), Bromine (Br), Iodine (I) aur Astatine (At). Fluorine sabse zyada electronegative element hai. Deacon Process aur Chlorine ki bleaching property bahut important hain.
- Group 18 (Noble Gases): Helium (He), Neon (Ne), Argon (Ar), Krypton (Kr), Xenon (Xe) aur Radon (Rn). Radon radioactive hota hai. Xenon compounds banata hai jaise XeF2, XeF4 aur XeF6. Inke VSEPR shapes exam mein frequently pooche jaate hain.
