1. Cartesian Product kya hota hai?
Subse pehle samajhte hain Cartesian Product, kyunki Relation isi se banta hai.
Maan lo tumhare paas do Sets hain:
- Set A (Foods): { Pizza, Burger }
- Set B (Drinks): { Coke, Juice }
Inke jitne bhi possible pairs (combinations) ban sakte hain, unke group ko hum Cartesian Product (A × B) kehte hain:
2. Relation kya hai?
Relation bas Cartesian Product ka ek hissa (subset) hota hai jo kisi rule ya connection se juda ho.
Real-Life Example:
Maan lo Set A me log hain: { Rohit, Virat } aur Set B me Unke Role hain: { Batsman, Captain }.
Agar rule hai "is the captain of", toh relation hoga:
Types of Relations (Class 12 Important):
- Reflexive: Har element ka apne aap se relation ho

(a, b) ∈ Rhai, toh(b, a) ∈ Rbhi hona chahiye. - Transitive: Agar
(a, b) ∈ Raur(b, c) ∈ R, toh(a, c) ∈ Rhona hi chahiye.
✨ Agar koi Relation ye teeno (Reflexive, Symmetric, Transitive) hai, toh use Equivalence Relation kehte hain.
3. Function kya hai? (The Vending Machine Analogy)
Function ek special tarah ka Relation hota hai. Isko ek Vending Machine ki tarah samjho:
- Tum Button Dabaate ho (Input / Domain)
- Machine Process Karti hai (Rule / Function)
- Tumhe Drink Milti hai (Output / Range)
🛑 Function Ke 2 Sunahre Niyam (Golden Rules):
- Set A ke har element ka output hona chahiye (Koi chhootna nahi chahiye).
- Ek input ka sirf EK hi output ho sakta hai. (Ek button dabaane par 2 alag drinks nahi nikal sakti).
4. Domain, Codomain aur Range
Isko ek simple example se samjho: f(x) = x²
Agar hum inputs lete hain x = { 1, 2, 3 }

5. Types of Functions
1. One-One (Injective)
Har alag input ka ek alag unique output hota hai.
2. Many-One
Do ya do se zyada inputs ka same output ho sakta hai (jaise (-2)² = 4 aur 2² = 4).
3. Onto (Surjective)
Jab Range = Codomain ho jaye, yani Set B ka koi element khali na bache.
